Anyone needing a timeout?

Do you want to join me here? I have a friend with extra tickets who can't go. I thought it would be fun to go with my family, if you can. It is opening weekend of the hunt, so my boys will be busy. But maybe I could get away? Maybe with you? Las Vegas, baby. October 22 and 23. Let me know. (I haven't even asked my husband yet. hee hee)

He Is Your Dad

He's unique -- one of a kind! Sometimes that frustrates you; but mostly it just makes you proud, right? With Father's Day coming up, I thought I should remind you of a few of those idiosyncrasies that we all love.

  • Perfectionist -- Don't rush him; he does one thing at a time, and he does it very well.
  • Multi-talented -- See below.
  • Musical -- both voice and guitar. (Did you know he can play the piano?) There is even a recording of him singing soprano, alto, tenor, & base on the same song!
  • He is a fine actor -- He played Poirot once, and the accent was perfect.
  • Linguist -- Very view people speak, read and write Navajo as well as he does.
  • Athlete -- He used to be an outstanding shortstop. He was also a gymnast and a high school wrestler. Now his favorite is golf, and did I mention that he is a perfectionist?
  • Comedian -- Lobotomy; Need I say more?
  • Animal lover -- Fish, cats, dogs, parrots, fish, goats, fish, and of course, FISH.
  • Procrastinator -- Who isn't? Wait; I'll answer that question later . . .
  • Grandpa par excellence! Lucky grandchildren!
  • Loving Husband and Father -- We are all blessed.
  • Spiritual -- He lives his testimony of Christ and the Restored Gospel everyday.
  • Outdoorsman -- Loves hiking, camping, and fishing.
  • Hard worker -- Has provided well for his family for his entire life.
  • It's official -- he's retiring at the end of this month! (Sort of!)

Waiting in the ER

FYI- Drew probably has another kidney stone. The good news is he really likes the heavy drugs and it helps control the pain. The bad news is he has to miss the Father & Sons campout. Hopefully it will pass fast.

(I hope he doesn't kill me for posting this. What else am I supposed to do at 2 am, waiting for the doctor.)

Small Adventures Making Big Memories

We spent Saturday morning splashing, laughing, and basking at Sand Island for Mothers Day. It was nice to get out in the sun and away from the world for a few hours.

Kate, Worthy and I all had a blast playing in the mud while Mom and Dad relaxed and read their books.

Even Bear enjoyed running through the water, playing tag with the kids.

Nothing says "We love you, Mom" like a day spent having fun together. Happy Mothers Day :)

This girl

is having a birthday. Rachel turns 8 in 8 more days. Saturday, April 3 (her birthday), her father will baptize her a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are still working out the time, but we will let you know. Also, there is finally a new post on my blog. If I haven't invited you to view it yet, please be sure and remind me.
