Richie's show opened on my birthday and I was able to go see him perform that night. He gets out of class at 4:00 on Fridays so we actually had a couple hours to go out to dinner before he had to be at the theatre. He took me to Olive Garden and we blew our eating out budget, and we had been pretty good up to that point. We haven't been eating out as much since Richie went on his diet and we have especially been staying away from pasta, so it was a little bit of a treat. He thought he was really sneaky at one point when he went to ask the server for some breadsticks, but I knew he was going to tell them that it was my birthday. I don't mind the free dessert, but I am not a huge fan of the commontion they cause when they wish you happy birthday in a restaurant. The funny thing about it is that the server forgot and I never got sung to or a free dessert. Richie felt really badly, but I didn't mind.
Richie was wonderful in his show, of course, and I was really glad to see him perform again. After the show we went to the opening night party. It wasn't anything too fancy, but it was fun. "Happy Birthday" was sung to me there and I got a lot of well-wishes from everyone. It was a lovely birthday.
The pregnancy is going fine. The bladder infection is all cleared up and we are back to the boring, uneventful pregnancy, just like I like it. I am getting pretty uncomfortable, but that is inevitable. It wouldn't be so bad, but New Jersey can't seem to decide if it really wants to participate in the fall season and it has been in the eighties all week long. I am at that point in the pregnancy where the slightest amount of heat feels like an oven and I am ready for the fall temperatures. Plus I really liked New Jersey in the fall last year, so I am looking forward to it finally arriving.
For the most part I am feeling really good. I am getting weary of being asked how I'm feeling, which I know sounds bad, but I feel pregnant and I feel more pregnant every day. People ask politely how I am doing and I wonder if they really want to hear about the back pain and the swollen ankles and waking up three times a night to go to the bathroom. That is how I am doing, but I don't actually tell them, I usually say I am pretty good, just really tired. Anyway, I am doing well and hopefully I will schedule the c-section this week. It will be very cool to know exactly when I am having the baby. I thought you might be interested to see how I am looking. I took this picture today.
Little Richie is great. If you haven't yet, you should check out the latest video on our blog. I think he is a pretty great kid. We are seeing a specialist tomorrow to find out about big Richie's hernia. We may be recovering from surgery together, who knows? We'll keep you posted.
I love you all!

You are radient. Thats what people say right? Well, you do look cute pregnant. I am glad things are going well. I hope that Richies hernia isn't too bad. Love ya
As soon as you get scheduled for that c-section, let us know, okay? Just a month to go, right? And keep us informed on Richie's health concerns too. Life is never dull at the Call apartment!
It's no fair when people look cute pregnant. But since you're miserable you might as well look good.
I agree with Kim, I just look fat when I get pregnant! I also agree with you Chrislynn. I don't know why people ask you how you are feeling when you are pregnant -- they surely don't want to know the truth! Also it is hard when people ask you (after the baby is born) if he is a good baby -- can you really answer that honestly when he/she needs to eat every one to two hours round the clock?! Love you!
i'm sure everything will sort out all rigth
:-)
