Since Chrislynn requested that I post some pictures of my handicrafts, here they are! Keep in mind, since I give away everything I make, I do not have many examples to show at any given point in time.
This is a red and black, denim/flannel rag quilt I just finished this week for Cole Barton. He asked me a few weeks ago why Morgan, Garrett, and Eva all received a comforter for their baptism, and he didn't. I reminded him that he asked me to speak about "Baptism," and they had asked me to speak about "the Holy Ghost." So then he wondered what it would take for him to get a quilt, and I told him just to ask.I am currently hand-quilting a queen-size quilt of embroidered blocks, and before you ask -- I have no idea who or what it is for; I just wanted to make it. Hopefully, I'll have it done by summer, and then I can display it in the 4th of July quilt show.
I also make crocheted dishrags, receiving blankets, burp cloths, and pillowcases.
I come from a long line of Mormon Pioneer women who crocheted, quilted, and generally created a heritage which is worth emulating. I am proud to say that I have children with a variety of great talents as well!

Thanks Mom, I'll let Kristin know you posted. Love you.
Gail, is the white quilt hand embroidered too? By YOU? It is too beautiful to ever be actually used, in my opinion. And the red/black blanket has got some major man appeal. Thanks for shwoing it, Chrislynn.
Yes, Kristin, thank you. I spent about a year embroidering blocks while traveling to see my grandchildren in various states and countries. I am too OCD to keep still while I am sitting, so I do hand work. Nice talking to you!
I totally LOVE the embroidery quilt. Every time I see you work on a square I think wow that is going to be an amazing quilt.
Does your new sewing machine quilt blankets?
My manual says that machine quilting is one of the options, but I haven't made it that far in my sewing machine learning curve yet.
