A few thoughts

Before anything else, I just want to say what a special experience I had yesterday when I was able to join the body of the priesthood across the world in standing and sustaining our new prophet, Thomas S. Monson. But even more special was the excitement of my young children and the spirit that touched my heart when they rose with the membership of the church and excitedly raised their arms in support of this man and his calling. Though they may not remember having done so, I am grateful that they are learning to set patterns of love, respect and righteous living.

On to more worldly matters. We'll be coming home soon. No, home is not Blanding. Home is New York, and we couldn't be more excited. June 20 is the tentative date, give or take a few days. I've still got plenty to keep me busy at work right now, but Eryka's getting anxious to get home so she's beginning the pre-packing process already: going through the home and organizing things, throwing out things we don't need and planning where our furniture will be going in our new house.

Did we mention we're buying a house? It's a really nice place that our friends just spent the past two years renovating. We're excited because they've done real quality work and taken good care of it, so we don't have to worry about things like updating a kitchen or bathroom. But there are still unfinished parts (basement and attic) so if we think the place is getting to tight and we get to feeling handy, we can always increase the living space. Of course, it's an old house, so of course we won't be living in total peace with things never going wrong, but that's part of the joy/pain that comes with owning a house, right? We're hoping to close on the place a few weeks after we get back to New York so we don't have to stay in temporary housing for very long.
I don't have much more to say, but I thought I'd share a few more pictures of our trip to Prague.

I was just wondering if I might have seen your house on designmom's blog? The pictures looked oddly familiar and I thought maybe it was a home she highlighted once.

We are super excited for you guys to come back!

Good memory ! She did feature it on her blog. Our friends that live in it now are true minimalists. They have no clutter and there house is always clean. If you want to see more pictures let me know and I can email you some.

Chrislynn, Do you guys have Thanksgiving plans? I'm thinking big dinner at our house! Of course everyone else is invited too!

We're also super excited for you guys to get back from Logan. Have a fun summer.
