I have been told by many of you that it is my turn to post. Here is my post. It is not going to be amazing. I have no pictures to post, but it gets my turn out of the way so you can move on with your own posts.
This last week was a time of deep contemplation and evaluation for me. As I believe you all know we had an incredible tragedy occur in which 3 great men of our community were taken from this life into the next. I am not going to wax philosophical about the reason behind the event but I am going to say that it has made me ponder my own readiness if I were called on and it has made me ponder what truly matters in this life. The most important thing for me is my family. I must do all in my power to create positive memories with my family and do all I can to help them be strong and secure in the gospel. It is just too important to waste my time being frivolously preoccupied with anything else. My family needs my love and I need theirs.
So here is my challenge to you: Remember how precious your family is and do all in your power to create positive memories with them. Love your spouses. Treat them with respect. Love your children. Be tender with them. Have fun with one another. Live and enjoy life together.
Okay, I am done preaching. Kim and I have been married for 15 years. To celebrate our anniversary we went on a cruise to Baja Mexico out of San Diego, California. It was such an amazingly great time. It really renewed us and now we are saving for our next cruise. One of the highlights of our trip was while we were in San Diego. Comicon was happening while we were there. We did not have tickets but we were able to go to the convention center and wander for a while before we boarded the boat. It was an amazing circus. I think in the 20 minutes we spent there we saw Spider-Man, Storm, Baby Spider-man, Several Storm Troopers and a few self-made heroes and villains. I am pretty certain I am going to book a trip to the actual event sometime. I think I would really enjoy it.
The kids have returned to school. Kate had refused for some time to acknowledge that shcool was starting but has transitioned well, so far, into the third grade. Worthy has discovered that first grade is going to be a bit of work but he has a great teacher. Morgan just seems excited to be in High School because of all the cute older boys she will see on campus. Her boy craziness might drive me crazy.
Morgan made the Volleyball team. We are really excited. She is a much happier person when she is actively involved and she really loves volleyball. It will be fun to travel around the State and watch her play this year. We are very proud of her.
To conclude my post I want to share a thought with all of you that made me smile today. "There are three kinds of people in this world...those that can count...and those that can't."

Riiighht! Math was always your strong point!
Thanks! I love hearing about your family and your fun adventures.
Thanks for that awesome post. Now that my family is growing I agree with you 100% that the most important thing is family. I hope that I can be a wonderful father and husband and worthy of what God has blessed me with.
I remember when you came home from your mission, you did a family home evening lesson about how we should center our lives around Christ. When you think about it, a large part of Christ's mission had to do with enabling families to be together forever. If we don't do the best we can for and with our families, we are not respecting all the Christ has done for us. Thanks for posting your thoughts.
That is interesting that you would remember that lesson. I still teach that lesson. In fact, I taught it just a few weeks ago in Sunday School. I am assuming it is the one where I use Christ as the center of a wheel with spokes. It is a valuable concept. If we are centered in Christ and anything happens to any of our "spokes" we can repair that damage, because Christ is constant. If our center is anything else if something happens to that center all the other spokes will fall away. As long as we are anchored in Christ we can endure and overcome anything. It is hard to explain with just words. An image works better but it is a valid concept none-the-less.
