The Worthy Juniors

It was so fun to hear from Nan that I waited a few days to post. Hope that's okay.

Life for the Glover Jr.'s in Blanding has been busy and hectic, but in a good way! Spring always brings with it extra activity. We've been spending a lot of time outside working on the yard and the garden, and we've had several adventures out in the boonies hiking around, roasting marshmallows, and letting Lou chase bunnies. I love San Juan County in the springtime. I always marvel at how amazing it is to be able to go just a few miles in each direction and find such peace and beauty.

Morgan has just finished up city volleyball, which has been a great experience. She was on a better team this year than she has been in the past, so the pressure was more intense for her. But she came through and we are so proud of her. She has grown so much since we started volleyball in 4th grade--her confidence and self esteem have skyrocketed. She's a beautiful lady on the outside as well as on the inside. How lucky I am to be her momma. Next she will be starting softball. She has been recruited to a team that will be playing in some recreational tournaments this spring, which will mean more Saturdays on the road for the Glovers. City league softball will begin immediately after that.

Little Kate is enjoying her new glasses! Mrs. Johnson, her teacher, said, "Kate, you look just like a teenager." So of course Mrs. Johnson is the expert on all things and Kate is quite proud. Kate is such an outside girl, she is really enjoying the spring weather. She has already spent quite a bit of time jumping on the trampoline, digging to China in our garden patch, and climbing. She loves to ride little Worthy's bike with the training wheels on it! It's been rough trying to teach Katie-bug how to balance on a bike, which is wierd because she is so natural at most things physical. I'm hoping this spring will bring success on her bike. She will love the freedom.

Little Worthy is enjoying the spring time, too. But he is quite reluctant to spend time outside unless he is coerced. Once he gets out there he has a blast. Worthy is really enjoying preschool this year, and thinks the best game ever is coming up with words that start with individual letters. He goes around saying, "P. P. Popcorn, pickles, pop, pan...." Last week we were out at Comb Wash roasting "shmarshmallows." Worthy said, in all seriousness, "What starts with Shmarsh?" So cute. Our little man seems to be going through a bit of a grumpy stage. We're all crossing our fingers hoping it's a short stage!

Worthy and I are pretty much just juggling life, trying to keep all of the balls in the air without letting any of them fall. Worthy is teaching sunday school in our ward, and he spends many hours studying. He loves it but it is time consuming. He's also in his second to last master's class. He's trying hard not to burn out at the end! We're all so proud of him and the way he is able to juggle fatherhood, husbandhood, jobhood, churchhood, studenthood...!

Worthy and I are both trying to get in shape and live healthier lives. I feel better about the food we have available for our children in our house, and I really believe it has helped both of the little ones with their behavior to have less sugar. Worthy and I have both lost 31 pounds since January 1st. The sad thing is, Worthy is almost to his goal and I have about a gazillion more pounds to go! But I think the big payoff is just feeling better. I'm more worried about what is going on on the insides of us than on the outsides, if that makes any sense.

We spent the week working our buns off on our home. Clay, who we worship as the God Of Home Improvement, helped us figure out how to patch drywall. (Thanks Clay!) Come by and see our new kitchen paint and our new bathroom complete with new lighting, fixtures, and mirror.

We have loved having Ericka, Isaac and Stella here! Ericka is such a good little mom, and our kids enjoy getting to know the little ones better. Tomorrow we are planning on going out to the boonies with Eryka and the kids. That will be fun.

We love all of you and it's so fun to keep in touch this way. Happy Spring!

I miss Utah in the spring. Out here it is really nice one day, and cold and rainy the next. I love the pictures, and I love hearing about your family.

Great post, I love when we get to see more pictures and hope that I can come see the new paint in the kitchen soon.
