What have we been doing this summer? Besides selling our house suddenly, moving in less than a month, going on a couple short vacations, and trying to settle on house plans; yes, we have gone boating. Mostly, we have made a few day trips to Lake Powell. We have camped out there a couple of times. Last week, we rented a houseboat and stayed for a few days. I took the kids out of school the last two days of the school week. It's still a little weird to me that they are back in school. Where did my summer go?
Not once did I take the kids to the city swimming pool. I usually go at least three times or more a week in the summertime. I think the whole moving thing threw me off a little. I am sure you all know by now. One day, early in May Britt called and said he thought he had our house sold. I didn't know we were trying to sell it. "Whatever" was basically my response. A week later, Geraldine Bailey came over to look at it. A couple days after that, we signed papers and she handed us a check for the purchase price. We (what am I saying--I) had three weeks to get moved out, and then Britt and I would be leaving on a motorcycle trip down the Oregon coast. Luckily, Britt found us a nice little trailer to rent while we figure out what to do about building.
I won't go into detail about what a process that has been.
Let's see, here's some pictures from our summer:

Looks like a lot of fun! We should all rent a houseboat for a week next summer. Good luck with the house!
You guys look pretty "cool" to me. Someday your children will appreciate all the fun things you do, especially since you have pictures to prove it.
Um, maybe I should call my sister more often, or she should call me because this is the first I have heard about selling houses and moving. You guys are crazy!
What a fun summer. Your kids are lucky that they get to go boating and camping at Lake Powell. Growing up I always thought it was just a place for fishing.
You have one lucky family. I am glad you guys share your toys with us. Love ya.
Nan, you have such a gift with the camera. Those pictures are priceless. Thanks for sharing.
What great summer photos - I can't believe how much the kids have grown since your last trip to Montana. Good luck on the house hunting!
