You can almost see everyone in this picture. I have a couple others, but Kim and Kate were missing, and people's heads are turned in another direction in almost all the others. This picture was taken the day of Grandma Asay's funeral. Let's see, who was missing of Grandma and Grandpa Asay's posterity? Tiel and her husband were there, but I don't think they made it into the photo. Tim's wife Nancy very generously let him leave her to go to Montana. Chrislynn and her Richies and Sophia were there in spirit, as well as Drew, Eryka, Issac, Stella and Joaquin. That's pretty awesome, the great people and families that have come into being because of the love story of those two wonderful people.
Grandma's funeral was perfect. Mom gave a nice description of her life story, including tributes written by grandchildren. Dad and Lesli sang a beautiful song, "How Great Thou Art." The stake president and bishop also gave some nice remarks. It was not too long, but a well-presented program honoring the beautiful woman we were privileged to call our grandmother.
You all need to read David's blog about the serendipity of how things worked out that day with the funeral procession. After a very brief dedication of the grave by Bob, the granddaughters and great-granddaughters presented roses to Grandpa, rather than leaving them on the grave.
Grandpa was pretty distraught, and did not want to be there to witness Grandma's coffin being lowered into the ground. Olivia also was very upset about this. She kept asking when Grandma was going to come back alive. We tried to explain about Jesus. But she wanted him to come right now and bring Grandma back to us. She was very emotional about it, sweet tender girl.
We are so glad we were able to be there, to spend some time with family and to remember our dear Grandma. Garrett left his first scout camp halfway through the week, because he wanted to be in Montana with the family for the funeral. I know that he is glad he did. He was also pretty emotional about Grandma's death. But I know he believes he will see her again, and that comforts him.
What a blessing the gospel is in our lives! We are so grateful to have an understanding about the Plan of Salvation. We are so grateful for the good people who are part of our families, both by birth and through church association.

I'm so glad you're posting, even if it's out of order. (Is it? I don't know). I love the photos--wish I would have thought about getting some with my kids.
