Another Day at the Beach

The Friday of Labor Day weekend we finally went to the Jersey shore and we can't believe that we have lived here for two years and never gone before.  We have gone into the city so many times and this was so much easier than a trip into the city; the drive was shorter, we didn't have to pay tolls, parking was easy to find, and it was relaxing.  The beach was beautiful but the water was not as calm as in California, so the kids didn't play in it, but they had lots of fun in the sand.  Sophia is a little sand crab and just crawls and crawls.  This time she didn't seem to mind sand in her mouth and she kept intentionally putting her hands in her mouth.  Richie liked digging and eventually  helped to bury Daddy and himself.  Richie actually almost fell asleep like that (the kids missed naps that day).  Richie and Daddy also flew a Thomas kite together, but Richie lost interest once it got really high in the air.  It was such a fun day!  Hopefully we will make it back to the shore this year.

Is that the Thomas kite he flew in Blanding? It sounds like a wonderful, fun day in the sun!
